TATLOW FALLS

The club maintains a park-and-play access to Tatlow Falls, a river feature on the Bulkley River that can enjoyed by paddlers of all skill levels. Depending on the river level, there are surf waves, eddies, and play holes of different sizes where paddlers can practice new skills and brush up on old ones. It can be paddled at most river levels but it is most approachable when the river is low.

Be sure to read the Tatlow Safety & Rules and make sure you are familiar with the various features before getting in the water.

As a member of the BVKCC, you can pick up a key to Tatlow for access throughout the season. We look forward to seing you down there!

DIRECTIONS

From downtown Smithers, drive east on Highway 16 to the junction with Tatlow Road. Drive south on Tatlow Rd for 4.3 km to a signed gate on your left. If you get to the railway crossing you have gone 100m too far. Follow the rough road for 500m to the river.

Note: A key is required for the gate. Keys are available with your BVKCC membership from Aquabatics.

If it is early season and the road is wet, or if your vehicle lacks clearance and is not suited for challenging roads, consider parking at the road, where safe to do so,  and walk to the site.
